2010 J. Bouchon Reserva Merlot - Maule Valley, Chile

This 100% Chilean Merlot is grown in the Maule Valle, and harvested in late March, early April. The color is a nice red with some violet notes and has aromas of ripe fruits like dry plums, as well as some nice aromas of jam made from red fruits. It tastes of ripe fruits with a hint of coffee coming from the aging in French Oak. This J. Bouchon Merlot is very elegant with soft tannins and good acidity which give nice freshness at the end. Serves well with chicken, ham, mild cheese, risotto and pasta served with mushroom sauce or tomato sauce.
