2008 De Martino 'Las Cruces' Old Bush Vines Malbec-Carmenere - Cachapoal Valley, Chile

Las Cruces is a single vineyard site in the Cachapoal Valley with vines over 70 years old. It's an extremely unique "field blend" of Malbec, Carmenere and other unidentified varieties growing together in the same plot. The wine is full and ripe, with plum, raspberry and cherry fruit layered with spice, tobacco, vanilla and brambly tannins. Wine Spectator awarded it 91 points, and suggests drinking through 2011.
