2010 Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris - Maipo Valley, Chile

This 100% Sauvignon Gris is an old Bordeaux varietal that is related to Sauvignon Blanc, but it has pink skin and makes white wines with richer texture and body. The wine is floral with assertive fruitiness such as peach, pineapple and lemon on the nose. The palate has a rich, fleshy texture and bright acidity. The warm climate and calcium-rich land allow the grapes to attain great complexity and balance. This is a unique, appealing wine that's great on its own or with a variety of seafood dishes.
