Puro Chile announces Chilean Pisco with a bang!
A couple of weeks ago we told you all about Puro Chile and Puro Wine at Tales of the Cocktails with Pisco Waqar, and Pisco Control. What we didn't tell you was how successful the event was, and how excited we all are to have these Piscos at Puro Wine this Fall. Yesterday in the Washington Post, Jason Wilson, the Spirits columnist, described some surprising, and favorite sips from Tales of the Cocktail 2012 including two Chilean Piscos. As an even bigger compliment, Jason explains his previous prejudice against Chilean Pisco and how it was quickly changed this week. He says "Even more surprising was a small tasting of piscos from Chile. In the past, I've been a bit disparaging toward Chilean pisco, as I think some of the bigger Chilean brands are not up to the quality of their Peruvian rivals. But after trying some artisan brands Friday afternoon, I can see my opinion quickly changing....Good-quality Chilean pisco makes sense: Chile is such an up-and-coming wine region, so brandy production should be a no-brainer."
We are so grateful and excited that Chilean Pisco as a whole is gaining both popularity as well as recognition among the cocktail community. If you, too would like to shed your bias against Chilean Pisco and try some of the best - please email info@puro-wine to get on our waiting list for Pisco Waqar and Pisco Control, as we have a good feeling this stuff will fly off the shelves as soon as we get it.
